
This part of GB/T 11024 specifies the performance, testing, rating, safety requirements, installation and operation guidelines of parallel capacitors for AC power systems with a nominal voltage of 1000 V or above. This section applies to capacitor units and capacitor banks specifically designed to provide reactive power and improve power factor in AC power systems with a nominal voltage of over 1000 V and frequencies ranging from 15 Hz to 60 Hz. This section also applies to capacitors intended for use in power filtering circuits. The additional definitions, requirements, and tests for AC filter capacitors are given in Appendix B. The additional requirements for capacitors with internal fuse protection and the requirements for internal fuses are given in GB/T 11024.4-2019. The requirements for capacitors with external fuse protection and for external fuses are given in Appendix C. This section does not apply to self-healing metallized dielectric capacitors. This section also does not include the following capacitors: - Power capacitors for induction heating devices [see GB/T 3984 (all parts)]; - Series capacitors for power systems [see GB/T 6115 (all parts)]; --- Capacitors and their analogues for electric motors [see GB/T 3667 (all parts)]—— Coupling capacitors and capacitor voltage dividers [refer to GB/T 19749 (all parts)]—— Parallel capacitors for AC power systems with a nominal voltage of 1000 V and below [see GB/T 12747 (all parts) and GB/T17886 (all parts)]; --- Small AC capacitors for fluorescent and discharge lamps (see GB/T 18489 and GB/T 18504); - Power electronic capacitors (see GB/T 17702); --- Capacitors for microwave ovens (see GB/T18939.1); -- Capacitors for suppressing radio interference; - capacitors intended for use under DC voltage superimposed with AC voltage. All accessories, such as insulators, switches, transformers, external fuses, etc., comply with corresponding standards.
