The scope of this standard includes electrical type testing and routine testing of dynamic brake valves applied to high-voltage direct current (HVDC) overvoltage limitation. This standard can be used to guide the testing of static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) valves. The tests specified in this standard are based on air insulated valves.
