Sensors (current, voltage, speed, etc.) and semiconductor drive units (SDUs) used in power electronic equipment are included in this standard. The complete semiconductor driver unit (SDU) and power converter are included in EN 61287-1. This European Standard includes operating conditions, design requirements, documentation and electronic equipment testing, as well as basic hardware and software requirements for compliant and reliable equipment. Specific operational requirements required to ensure functional safety levels will be determined based on relevant railway safety standards.
