Low voltage switchgear and control equipment - Part 1: Scope and purpose of type testing and partial type testing of complete equipment - This part applies to low-voltage switchgear and control equipment with a rated voltage of AC not exceeding 1000V, frequency not exceeding 1000Hz, and DC not exceeding 1500V, including type tested complete equipment (TTA) and partial type tested complete equipment (PTTA). This section is also applicable to complete equipment with control and power devices installed at higher frequencies. In this case, corresponding additional requirements should be adopted. This section applies to fixed or mobile complete sets of equipment with or without enclosures. Note: Special requirements for certain specialized types of complete equipment are given in the supplementary IEC standards. This section applies to complete sets of equipment used in conjunction with equipment for power generation, transmission, distribution, and energy conversion, as well as equipment for controlling energy consumption. This section is also applicable to complete sets of equipment designed for special usage conditions, such as complete sets of equipment used in ships, locomotives, machine tools, lifting machinery, or in explosive environments, as well as equipment used by civilian or non professional personnel, as long as they comply with relevant regulatory requirements. This section does not apply to individual components and self-contained components, such as motor starters, knife fuse switches, electronic equipment, etc. The above equipment should comply with their respective relevant standards.
