IEC/PAS 62612:2009 is a performance specification for self ballasted LED lamps for general lighting, published by IEC on June 10, 2009. It is a supplement to IEC 62560 (Safety Requirements for Self ballasted Lamps for General Lighting). The full name of PAS is the publicly available specification, which is a "standard document published to meet the urgent needs of the market" and an intermediate standard document published before the formulation of formal international standards. IEC/PAS 62612 is suitable for self ballasted LED lamps for general lighting with a rated wattage not exceeding 60 W, a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V AC or DC, and a lamp head that complies with IEC 62560. This standard does not apply to self ballasted LED lights that intentionally emit colored light, nor does it apply to OLEDs. IEC/PAS 62612 mainly specifies the marking, size, power, luminous flux, relevant color temperature and color rendering index, lifespan, testing methods, etc. of self ballasted LED lights: (1) The rated luminous flux, color coding, lifespan, and luminous flux maintenance rate of the marked position lights need to be indicated on the product and product packaging, product data sheets, or promotional leaflets; The scrap rate, luminous flux maintenance category, rated relevant color temperature, and rated color rendering index of the lamp only need to be indicated on the product data sheet or promotional leaflet page. (2) The size of the size lamp should comply with the manufacturer's nominal value. The appearance of the lamp should not exceed the lamp it is intended to replace (see IEC 60630 "Maximum Bulb Outline Drawing for Incandescent Lamps"). (3) The power of the power LED lamp cannot exceed 15% of the rated value. (4) The initial luminous flux shall not be less than 90% of the rated luminous flux. (5) The rated relevant color temperature and color rendering performance of LED lamps is one of 2700 K, 3000 K, 3500 K, 4000 K, 5000 K, or 6500 K. The initial color rendering index and the color rendering index with a running time of 25% of the rated lamp life (maximum duration of 6000 hours) must be measured. The actual measured value of the color rendering index (which includes both the initial value and the 25% rated life value with a maximum duration of 6000 hours) should not be reduced by more than 5 points compared to the rated CRI value. (6) The lifespan of LED lights is determined by their luminous flux maintenance performance and the lifespan of the built-in ballast. For luminous flux maintenance rate: The luminous flux value measured at 25% of the rated lamp service life (with a maximum duration of 6000 hours) should not be less than the maximum luminous flux maintenance related to the rated service life (L50 or L70) specified by the manufacturer or responsible distributor. The measured luminous flux maintenance should correspond to the "luminous flux maintenance category" specified and provided by the manufacturer or responsible distributor: categories A to E apply to L50 (categories A to C apply to L70). Among them, the "type of luminous flux maintenance" is clearly defined in this specification. For the lifespan of the built-in ballast: As the self ballasting lamp is an integral unit that cannot be disassembled unless permanently damaged, its built-in ballast should be tested as part of the complete self ballasting lamp. Self ballasted LED lights should undergo temperature cycling impact testing and voltage switch testing. During a testing cycle equivalent to 25% of the rated service life (with a maximum duration of 6000 hours), the LED lamp should always operate at the test voltage and an ambient temperature of+45 ° C. At the end of this time, the lamp can still be lit for at least 15 minutes when the temperature is lowered to room temperature. Considering that the IEC standard has been released, enterprises should consider this standard when producing self ballasted LED lights. Although this standard is not a mandatory requirement, it is also an important basis for enterprises to assess product quality when exploring international markets
