This part of the scope GB/T 9816 specifies the technical requirements for the mechanical, electrical, temperature, and material aspects of easily fusible gold temperature sensitive thermal fuse links. This section is applicable to electrical appliances, electronic devices, and similar components installed in general indoor environments to prevent them from overheating in case of faults. It is a fusible alloy type thermal fuse. Note 1: Equipment may not be designed to generate heat. Note 2: The effectiveness of preventing overheating is related to the installation position and method of the thermal fuse, as well as the magnitude of the current carried. Note 3: It should be noted that the external creepage distance and electrical clearance specified in Table 3 of GB/T 9816.1-2013 may be less than the requirements specified in certain electrical or equipment standards in some cases. In this case, when installing thermal fuses for such equipment, it is advisable to consider taking measures to ensure that the creepage distance and electrical clearance meet the specified values of the corresponding equipment standards. Note 4: Unless otherwise specified, the fusible alloy temperature sensitive thermal fuse and thermal fuse in this section refer to the fusible gold temperature sensitive thermal fuse. If the climate and other conditions of the environment where the fusible gold temperature sensitive thermal fuse link is located are similar to those specified in this section, this section can also be used for fusible alloy temperature sensitive thermal fuse links used under non indoor conditions. This section is applicable to fusible alloy temperature sensitive thermal fuse links with a rated voltage not exceeding 690 V AC/DC and a rated current not exceeding 63A. This section also applies to easily fusible gold temperature sensitive encapsulated thermal fuse links (hereinafter referred to as encapsulated thermal fuse links). This section is not applicable to fusible alloy temperature sensitive thermal fuse links used under extreme conditions such as corrosive or explosive atmospheres. This section does not apply to fusible alloy temperature sensitive thermal fuse links used in AC circuits with frequencies below 45 Hz or above 62 Hz
