1.1 Scope and Purpose This section is used in conjunction with GB/T 18015.1. This type of cable is specifically designed for horizontal layer wiring as defined in GB/T 18233. This section applies to cables with fewer than 20 pairs or 10 quads in horizontal layer wiring. Pairs or quads can have or have no separate shielding. The core of this type of cable can have a total shield. This type of cable is suitable for various communication systems mentioned in appropriate detailed specifications. The cables included in this section should operate under the voltage and current commonly used in communication systems. These cables should not be connected to low impedance power sources such as public power supply. The recommended temperature range during cable installation and operation is specified in the detailed specifications. 1.2 Normative References: The clauses in the following documents are referred to in this part of GB/T 18015 and become the clauses of this part. For dated reference documents, all subsequent amendments (excluding corrected content) or revisions do not apply to this section.
