This standard specifies the safety requirements for discharge lamps (excluding fluorescent lamps) for general lighting purposes. This standard applies to low-pressure sodium lamps and high intensity discharge lamps (HID), namely high-pressure mercury lamps (including self ballasted mercury lamps), high-pressure sodium lamps, and metal halide lamps. This standard is applicable to both single ended and double ended lamps, and Appendix A lists the lamp cap models used. The requirements of this standard only involve type testing. The eligibility criteria (including statistical evaluation methods) are still being studied. Note:; This standard only covers safety standards and does not include performance requirements. Performance requirements can be found in IEC 60188, IEC 60192, IEC 60662, IEC 61167, and IEC 61549. Lamps that comply with this standard can safely operate at 90% -110% of the rated power supply voltage when equipped with corresponding ballasts, starting devices, and lamps. Ballasts should comply with GB 19510.10 and GB 15042; The starting device should comply with GB 19510.2 and IEC 60927; Luminaires should comply with GB 7000.1
