1 Scope and Special Applications 1.1 Scope This part of GB 7260 is applicable to electronic uninterruptible power supply equipment with energy storage devices in the DC link. This section references the relevant content of GB 4943-2001 and IEC 60950-1:2001. The main function of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) included in this section is to ensure the continuity of AC power output. UPS can also maintain the specified characteristics of the power supply, thereby improving the quality of the power supply. The notes on regional differences in relevant chapters of GB4943-2001 and IEC 60950-1:2001 also apply. This section is applicable to mobile, stationary, fixed, or embedded UPS intended for installation in the operator's reach area for low-voltage distribution systems. This section specifies the requirements for ensuring the safety of operators and lay personnel who may come into contact with the equipment. When specifically specified, it also applies to maintenance personnel. This section aims to ensure the safety of installing, operating, and maintaining UPS according to the manufacturer's prescribed methods. UPS can be a single UPS unit or an interconnected UPS system. This section does not include DC powered electronic ballasts (IEC 60924 and IEC 60925) and UPS based on rotating motors. The general and safety requirements for UPS intended to be installed in restricted access areas can be found in GB 7260.4, and the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements and definitions can be found in GB 7260.2. 1.2 Special Applications Although this section does not include all types of UPS, it can still serve as a guiding document. For some specific UPS applications, additional requirements may be required for this section. These specific uses include: - UPS intended to be exposed to extreme temperatures, excessive dust, humidity or vibration, flammable gases, corrosive or explosive atmospheres, etc—— Medical electronic devices equipped with UPS located within 1.5 meters of the patient's physical contact area; --- When the transient overvoltage borne by UPS exceeds the provisions of overvoltage category II in GB/T 16935.1-1997, the power supply part of UPS may require additional protective measures—— UPS requires additional requirements when used in situations where water immersion and foreign object intrusion may occur. The guidelines and related tests for these requirements can be found in Appendix H—— UPS operating with square wave output for a long time (over 30 minutes) should comply with the 5.3.12 voltage waveform distortion test in GB/T 7260.3-2003 to verify load compatibility. Note: UPS intended for use on vehicles, ships, or aircraft, or in tropical areas, or in areas with a height of 1000 meters or above, may require different requirements
