This standard specifies the terms and definitions, usage conditions, ratings, design and structure, type tests, factory tests, and other technical requirements for 3.6kV~40.5kV AC metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment. This standard applies to AC metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment assembled in factories with a rated voltage of 3.6kV~40.5kV and a frequency of 50 Hz and below for indoor or outdoor installation, The housing may contain fixed or removable components, and may be filled with insulation and/or breaking fluids (liquid or gas). Note 1:; This standard is mainly aimed at three-phase systems, but can also be used for single-phase or two-phase systems. According to the following points, this standard divides metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment into several categories: - the continuity of power grid operation when repairing switchgear and control equipment- The need and convenience of equipment maintenance. Note 2: The safety of equipment depends on the design, manufacturing, use, adjustment, coordination, installation, and operation of the product. For metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment with inflatable compartments, this standard applies when the design pressure does not exceed 0.3MPa (relative pressure). Note 3: Inflatable compartments with a design pressure exceeding 0.3MPa (relative pressure) should be designed and tested in accordance with GB/T7674. Special purpose metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment, such as places with flammable gases, mines, or ships, may require additional technical requirements. The components installed in metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment shall be designed and tested in accordance with the provisions of their respective standards. Considering the installation of various components in complete switchgear and control equipment, this standard supplements the standards for individual components. This standard does not exclude the use of other equipment in the same enclosure, and it is necessary to consider the impact of the equipment on the complete switchgear and control equipment. Note 4: Complete switchgear and control equipment with insulated enclosures shall comply with the provisions of IEC62271-201:2014. This standard also applies to metal enclosed switchgear and control equipment with a rated voltage of 40.5kV or above, air insulated or inflatable compartments, and a design pressure not exceeding 0.3MPa (relative pressure).
