This part of the scope GB/T 15579 specifies the safety and performance requirements for arc welding and cutting power supplies connected to single-phase public low-voltage power supply systems, designed for use by non professional personnel with limited loads, as well as auxiliary devices, and power supplies driven by mechanical equipment with an output power not exceeding 7.5kVA. Note 1: This type of equipment is usually used by non professionals in residential areas. This section is not applicable to the following arc welding and cutting power sources: - with arc striking and stabilizing devices- Equipped with liquid cooling system- Equipped with an air circuit device; - Three phase input power supply; And power supplies for industrial and professional use only. This section does not apply to arc welding and cutting power sources and auxiliary devices used in the following processes: - Mechanical guided applications; - Submerged arc welding; - Plasma air gouging- Plasma welding. The above situations are specified in other parts of GB/T 15579. Note 2: The requirements for power supplies, wire feeding devices, welding torches, and welding tongs for industrial and professional use are specified in GB/T 15579.1-2013, IEC 60974-5, IEC 60974-7, and 1EC60974-11. Note 3: This part does not include electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. This requirement can be found in IEC 60974-10. The following normative references are essential for the application of this document. For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document.
