This document provides a calculation method for the thermal resistance and heat transfer coefficient of building components and building units, but does not include doors, windows, other glazed components, curtain walls, components for ground heat transfer, and components designed for ventilation. This calculation method is based on the appropriate design thermal conductivity or design thermal resistance of materials and products related to the application. This document applies to building components and units composed of thermal homogeneous layers (which can include air layers). Appendix F of this document provides an approximate calculation method for non thermal homogeneous layer components containing metal fasteners, but it is not applicable to insulation layers with metal thermal bridges. Note: According to the modular settings specified in 1SO 52000-1, Table 1 in the introduction provides the relative positions of this document in the EPB series standards. 2 Normative References The content of the following documents constitutes an essential clause of this document through normative references in the text.
