Testing of enclosed low-voltage switchgear and control equipment

This standard provides guidance on the testing methods for complete equipment in the event of arc formation in the air due to internal faults. The purpose of this experiment is to evaluate the ability of the complete equipment to limit personal injury caused by internal arc faults, the risk of damage to the complete equipment, and the suitability for continued use. The test procedures provided in this standard are only applicable to enclosed, floor mounted or wall mounted low-voltage switchgear and control equipment that comply with GB 7251.12 (Complete Power Switchgear and Control Equipment PSC Complete Equipment). Note: This standard can be used as a reference document for arc fault testing of other products, but considering the characteristics of other complete equipment or products, the testing procedures and acceptance criteria should be adjusted- The door and cover plate of the complete equipment are closed and correctly fixed. This standard can serve as a guiding document when users and manufacturers reach agreements on testing under different or more severe conditions. The test procedure provided in this standard should consider: - the effect of internal overpressure acting on cover plates, doors, etc.; -- The thermal effect of the arc or arc root acting on the shell, as well as the thermal effect of the ejected hot gas and luminescent particles. The test procedures provided in this standard do not include: - other effects that can pose a hazard, such as toxic gases and sound; - During maintenance work, open doors or similar situations; - close to the top and bottom of the complete equipment. This test was conducted voluntarily by the manufacturer. The following normative references are essential for the application of this document. For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document. For undated references, the latest version (including all modification orders) applies to this document. GB 7251.1-2013 Low Voltage Switchgear and Control Equipment: Part 1: General (IEC 61439-1:2011, IDT) GB 7251.12-2013 Low Voltage Switchgear and Control Equipment, Part 2: Complete Power Switchgear and Control Equipment (IEC 61439-2:2011.1DT) IEC 60529:1989 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (TP Code) IEC 60529:1989/AMD 1: 1999 IEC 60529; 1989/AMD 2:2013
