For fixed sockets equipped with threaded terminals, the maximum rated current is only 16 A. This section does not include the requirements for concealed installation boxes: it only includes the requirements for exposed installation boxes that are necessary for testing sockets. Note 1: The general requirements for installation boxes are given in GB 17466. This section also applies to plugs installed in wire assemblies and plugs and mobile sockets installed in wire extension assemblies. This section also applies to plugs and sockets as a component of electrical appliances, unless otherwise specified in relevant electrical standards. Note 4: Sockets that meet the requirements of this section are only suitable for use in equipment where the installation method and location cannot cause the ambient temperature around the socket to exceed 40 ℃.
