Scope of application
This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This section covers the safety of liquid electric pumps with a temperature not exceeding 90 ℃ for household and similar purposes. Single phase rated voltage not exceeding 250 V; Other rated voltages not exceeding 480 V. Note 1: Devices within the scope of this section include: - Aquarium pump; - Garden pond pump; - Shower propulsion pump—— Sewage pump; - Submersible pump; - Suspended fountain pump; -—— Vertical drainage pump. Appliances that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a hazard to the public, such as those used by non professionals in shops, light industries, and farms, are also included in the scope of this section. In practical terms, this section covers the common hazards that may be encountered by all personnel inside and around the residence, caused by appliances. This section usually does not consider: (1) the use of equipment by unattended young children and disabled persons The situation of children playing with equipment. Note 2: Pay attention to the following situations: - Equipment intended for use on vehicles, ships, or aircraft may require additional requirements—— In many countries, additional requirements are formulated by national public health departments, labor protection departments, and similar departments. Note 3: This section does not apply to: - fixed circulation pumps for heating and water supply equipment (GB 4706.71/IEC 60335-2-51) - pumps for flammable liquids; - pumps specifically designed for industrial use; - pumps intended for use in corrosive or explosive special conditions (such as dust, steam, or combustible gas)—— Pump with electrolytic chlorination device. Note 4: Pumps installed in or within equipment are not included in this section unless a special standard is established.
