Installation box and shell inspection

1. Scope of Application

This part of GB/T 17466 specifies the technical requirements for the marking, anti electric shock protection, structural requirements, mechanical and electrical performance of electrical accessory installation boxes and enclosures for household and similar fixed electrical installations. This section applies to the installation boxes, enclosures, or enclosure components (hereinafter collectively referred to as "installation boxes" and "enclosures") of household and similar fixed electrical appliances with rated voltages not exceeding 1000 V a.c. and 1500 V d.c. for indoor or outdoor use. The installation box and casing that comply with this section are suitable for use in ambient temperatures typically not exceeding 40 ℃, but averaging not exceeding 35 ℃ within 24 hours. The lower limit temperature of the surrounding ambient air is -5 ℃. This section applies to the installation boxes and enclosures of household circuit breakers and similar equipment (corresponding to IEC/SC 23E) in the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Electrical Accessories (SAC/TC 67) and the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Low Voltage Electrical Appliances (SAC/TC 189). This section can also serve as a reference document for other standardization technical committees and subcommittees. The installation box and casing that become an integral part of the electrical accessory and can provide protection against external influences (such as mechanical impact, solid or water entry, etc.) are applicable to the relevant standard requirements of the electrical accessory. This section does not apply to: - ceiling light junction boxes: - lighting support accessories—— Installation boxes, enclosures, and enclosure components specifically designed for GB/T 19215 cable tray systems and not intended for installation outside of these systems. The following normative references are essential for the application of this document. For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document. For undated references, the latest version (including all modification orders) applies to this document.
