Composite insulator testing

1 Scope and Purpose: This standard applies to composite insulators for power station pillars, which consist of a solid cylindrical insulation core, an umbrella sleeve (located outside the solid insulation core), and end fittings. The core body that bears the load is made of resin impregnated fibers, the umbrella sleeve is made of elastic materials (such as silicone rubber or ethylene propylene rubber), and the end assembly is fixed on the insulator core body. The composite insulators for power station pillars described in this standard withstand bending, torsion, tension, and compression loads, and are used in substations with AC voltages above 1000 V. Note: Power station post composite insulators for DC systems can be referred to for implementation. The purpose of this standard is to: - define the terms used; --- Specify the test method-- Define acceptance or non conformance criteria. This standard does not include requirements for the selection of insulators under special operating conditions. 2 Normative References: The clauses in the following documents become clauses of this standard through reference in this standard. For dated reference documents, all subsequent amendments (excluding corrected content) or revisions are not applicable to this standard. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents can be used. For undated references, the latest version applies to this standard.
