This standard specifies the performance requirements for ballasts (non resistive) that operate with tubular preheating cathode fluorescent lamps using an AC power supply of 50 Hz or 60 Hz and below 1000 V. The fluorescent lamps used can operate with or without a starter or starting device, and the rated power, size, and characteristics of the lamps should comply with the provisions of IEC 60081 and TEC 60901. This standard applies to complete ballasts and their components, such as resistors, transformers, and capacitors. This standard does not include AC electronic ballasts for high-frequency operating tubular fluorescent lamps as specified in GB 19510.4. Note: In certain regions, there are regulations regarding the electromagnetic compatibility of lighting fixtures. The control device of the lamp can also change this electromagnetic compatibility. General requirements for testing 4.1 All tests specified in this standard are type tests. Note: The requirements and tolerances specified in this standard are based on the testing of type test samples provided by the manufacturer for this purpose. In principle, this type of test sample should have the typical characteristics of the manufacturer's product and should be as close as possible to the center point value of the product. Regarding the tolerances given in this standard, it can be expected that most products will comply with this standard as long as they are produced according to type test samples. Due to the discreteness of the product, it is inevitable that sometimes ballasts may appear that exceed the specified tolerance range. Regarding the sampling plan and procedure for inspection by attributes, refer to IEC60410.4.2. The tests should be carried out in the order specified in the clauses, unless otherwise specified P>
