This part of GB 19510 specifies the special requirements for starting devices (excluding glow starters and triggers) for fluorescent lamps and other discharge lamps using AC power sources below 1000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This starting device can generate a starting pulse of no more than 100 kV and be used together with lamps and ballasts specified in standards such as IEC 60081, IEC 60188, IEC 60192, IEC 60662, IEC 60901, IEC 61167, GB 18774, GB 16843, GB 19510.9.GB 19510.10. This section does not apply to glow starters, starting devices installed in discharge lamps, or manually operated starting devices. The requirements for preheating transformers for fluorescent lamps are given in GB 19510.9.
