Detection of concentric stranded conductors with one or more gaps

This standard specifies the electrical and mechanical properties of concentric stranded conductors (see Figure 1) containing one or more aluminum wires or aluminum alloy wires with self-supporting layers. The wire is composed of any of the following metal single wires: a) Hard aluminum wire in accordance with GB/T 17048-2009, named LY9, abbreviated as L; b) Aluminum magnesium silicon alloy round wire in accordance with GB/T 23308-2009, named LHA1 or LHA2; c) Heat resistant aluminum alloy wire in accordance with GB/T 30551-2014, named NRLH1, NRLH2, NRLH3, NRLH4; D Grade 1 strength galvanized steel wire in accordance with IEC60888:1987, named G1A or G1B; e) Comply with IEC 60888; 1987 grade 2 strength galvanized steel wire, named G2A or G2B; F in accordance with IEC 60888; 1987 grade 3 strength galvanized steel wire, named G3A; g) Aluminum clad steel wire in accordance with IEC 612321993, named LB20A, LB27, LB30, or LB40. Note: This standard includes the structures of self damping wires and gap type wires. Although the two types of wires have the same structural characteristics and have one or more gaps between the twisted layers, they are designed for different purposes. The self damping wire contains one or more gaps to increase self damping, while the gap of the surface gap type wire is to allow the aluminum wire layer to slide freely on the center wire core during installation, so the number of gaps does not exceed one. This standard applies to concentric stranded conductors with one or more layers of aluminum wire or aluminum alloy wire in various metal combinations specified in Table 1.
