GB 5009.86-2016 National Food Safety Standard - Determination of ascorbic acid in food This standard specifies the methods for determining ascorbic acid in food by high-performance liquid chromatography, fluorescence, and 2,6-dichloro indophenol titration. The first method of this standard is applicable to the determination of L (+) - ascorbic acid, D (+) - ascorbic acid and L (+) - ascorbic acid in milk powder, grains, vegetables, fruits and their products, meat products, vitamin supplements, jelly, gum based candy, Babao Congee, wine. The second method is applicable to the determination of the total amount of L (+) - ascorbic acid in milk powder, vegetables, fruits and their products. The third method is applicable to the determination of L (+) - ascorbic acid in fruits, vegetables, and their products. This standard replaced GB/T 5009.86-2003 "Determination of total ascorbic acid in vegetables, fruits and their products (fluorescence method and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine method)", GB/T 5009.159-2003 "Determination of reduced ascorbic acid in food", and GB 6195-1986 "Determination of vitamin C content in fruits and vegetables (2,6-dichloro indophenol titration method)" on March 1, 2017.
