GB4706 is a series of safety standards for household and similar electrical appliances, divided into the following parts: Part 1: General requirements; Part 2: Special requirements. This part is the special safety requirements for electric irons for household and similar purposes, equivalent to IEC60335-2-3:2005 (Ed5.1) "Safety of household and similar electrical appliances - Part 2: Special requirements for electric irons" (English version). This part should be used in conjunction with GB4706.1-2005 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part 1: General Requirements". This part is formed by adding or modifying GB4706.1-2005, specifying the applicable parts, indicating that the corresponding provisions of GB4706.1-2005 are applicable to this part; If the substituted part is clearly stated, the provisions of this part shall prevail; Indicate the modified section, indicating that the relevant content of the corresponding provisions of GB4706.1-2005 should be based on the modified content of this section, while the other contents of this provision still apply; Indicate the added section, indicating that in addition to complying with the corresponding provisions of GB4706.1-2005, it should also comply with the added provisions of this section. This section replaces GB4706.2-2003 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Special Requirements for Electric Irons". For ease of use, the following editorial modifications have been made to IEC60335-2-3 in this section: a) The word in Part 1 has been changed to GB4706.1; b) Replace the comma as the decimal point with a decimal point,. The main differences between this part and GB4706.2-2003 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Special Requirements for Electric Irons" are as follows: a) This part should be used in conjunction with GB4706.1-2005, while GB4706.2-2003 should be used in conjunction with GB4706.1-1998. b) The content arrangement of Chapters 2 to 5 in this section is different from that of Chapters 2 to 5 in GB4706.2-2003. c) According to 5.3 of this section, the test of 22.102 shall be conducted in Chapter 11, while GB4706.2-2003 stipulates that it shall be conducted at the end of Chapter 11 (note: 22.102 in this section is 22.103 in the 2003 version, and 22.103 is 22.102 in the 2003 version). d) Footnote 1 has been added to 7.1 of GB4706.2-2003, and this section has been cancelled. e) 11.6 in GB4706.2-2003 is not applicable, while this part is applicable. f) The empty chapter of Chapter 14 of GB4706.2-2003 has been changed to instantaneous overvoltage in this section. g) The method of overflow test in 15.2 has slightly changed. h) The test requirements of 19.4 have changed. i) This section adds the requirement for 21.102 drop test. j) Any device installed in an electric iron to meet the requirements of 19.4 in GB4706.2-2003, 22.102, should be non self resetting and can only be touched with tools. This sentence has been moved to 24.101 in this section. k) This section adds the requirement of 22.107. The clauses added to GB4706.1 are numbered starting from 101.
