1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide standardization organization composed of all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The purpose of IEC is to promote comprehensive cooperation among countries in the field of electrical and electronic standardization. Considering the above purposes and considering the needs of other activities, lEC also publishes international standards, technical specifications, technical reports, publicly available specifications (PAS), and guidelines (hereinafter collectively referred to as IEC publications). The entire development work is completed by the technical committee. Any IEC national committee interested in this technical issue can participate in the development work. International, governmental, and non-governmental organizations associated with the International Electrotechnical Commission can also participate in this work. IEC collaborates closely with ISO in its work based on its agreement with ISO. 2) Because each technical committee has representatives from various IEC national committees interested in technical issues, IEC has expressed international consensus on formal resolutions or agreements related to technical issues as much as possible. 3) IEC publications are intended for international use in a recommended manner and are accepted by various national committees in this sense.
