Scope and Purpose
This section is applicable to the classification of the protection level of rotating motor casings. This section specifies the requirements for shell protection. The shell should meet the usage requirements in all aspects, and the material and processing technology of the shell should ensure that its performance meets the requirements of this standard under normal usage conditions p>
This section does not specify:
- the level of protection for motors against mechanical damage or under conditions such as moisture (such as condensation), corrosive gases, mold, insect pests, etc p>
- Explosion proof type for motors operating in explosive gas environments;
- Requirements for barriers installed around enclosures solely for personal safety p> In certain situations (such as agricultural or household appliances), broader preventive measures can be prescribed to avoid accidental or intentional contact. This section specifies the standard level of protection for rotating motor casings in the following aspects:
a) preventing human contact or proximity to live parts inside the casing and touching rotating parts inside the casing (excluding smooth rotating shafts and similar parts), as well as preventing solid foreign objects from entering the motor p> B) Prevent harmful effects caused by water ingress into the motor p> This section specifies the marking of the protection level and the tests conducted to assess whether the motor meets the requirements of this standard p>
