Scope
This part of GB 1001 is applicable to porcelain or glass insulators for AC overhead power and traction lines with a nominal voltage above 1000 V and a frequency not exceeding 100 Hz This section is also suitable for insulators used in DC overhead power traction lines This section applies to insulator string components, rigid insulators for overhead lines, and insulators of similar structures used in substations This part does not apply to insulators that constitute electrical components or components used in electrical structures, as well as post insulators included in GB 8287.1 "High voltage post porcelain insulators - Part 1: Technical conditions" The testing of insulator strings and insulator sets (such as wet switching impulse voltage) is discussed in Part 2 of GB 1001. Note: This section does not include artificial pollution and radio interference tests The corresponding test methods for these items are discussed in the following standards:
