The following categories of lighting equipment are considered to comply with ICES-O05 without testing and are not limited by all technical and administrative requirements specified in this standard:

Passive lighting equipment (lamps and lanterns), i.e. lighting equipment that does not include any active/switching electronic components or any gas discharge lighting devices or components;
