Measurement, Control, and Laboratory Electrical Equipment (EMI) Testing

EMC requirements for electrical measurement, control, and laboratory equipment in EN 61326-1:2013 Part 1: General requirements:

Simulation: Electrical measurement, control, and laboratory equipment in IEC 61326-1:2012- EMC requirements - Part 1: General requirements

Replacement: EN 61326-1:2006- for measurement, EMC requirements for electrical equipment for control and laboratory use - Part 1: General requirements

New addition in this version:

• Drug sensitivity test levels and performance standards have been reviewed Clarified and modified the requirements for portable testing and measuring equipment The electromagnetic environment description has been improved

Scope

The international standard EN 61326-1:2013 is applicable to electrical equipment operated on batteries or power grids, with an estimated voltage of up to 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC, used for professional, industrial or non industrial, manufacturing, educational purposes, including the following equipment:

Testing and measurement

Control Laboratory use Accessories for the above equipment The international standard EN 61326-1:2013 also applies to equipment used in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments, as described in EN 61000-6-1 Equipment intended for industrial use Equipment used in laboratories with controlled electromagnetic environments Portable testing and measuring equipment Computing and assembly equipment used for computing, as well as similar equipment within the scope of Information Technology Equipment (ITE) that meets applicable EMC standards for information technology equipment, can be used for systems within the scope of EN 61326-1:2013 without additional testing. If the information technology equipment is suitable for the expected electromagnetic environment, it is necessary

Classification

The international standard EN 61326-1:2006 covers the classification of equipment. There is an international standard reference EN 55011:2016, which separates all equipment into two groups - Group 1 and Group 2, with each group subdivided into Class 2- Group 1 and Group 2

Group 1- covers all devices in the uncovered group

Group 2- covers the RF frequency range of an intentionally generated device, with energy ranging from 9 kHz to 400GHz, used to form electromagnetic radiation, inductive coupling, capacitive coupling, and for material analysis or inspection.

Class A - covers devices used in all institutions outside of the home, as well as devices that are not directly connected to the low-voltage power supply network that supplies the home environment Class B - covers devices used in household facilities directly connected to low-voltage power supply networks that supply the home environment If Class A requirements are applied, the following or similar warnings should be included in the user manual:

Caution

This device is not suitable for residential environments and may not provide sufficient protection for radio reception in such environments

Electrical measurement and testing equipment in embodiments

, which records or indicates one or more electrical or electrical non analyzer quantities -, generators, power supplies, and transducers.

Industrial process measurement and control equipment that controls one or more output quantities to specific values, including controllers, regulators, power and power systems, actuators, indicator locators, and vibrators Laboratory equipment, used for measuring or monitoring samples or for preparing samples. It is also used for external equipment in industrial factories, laboratories, or residential buildings The equipment EN 61326-1:2013 may operate in different environments within the scope of

requirements

. The applicability of emission and immunity testing requirements depends on the electromagnetic environment. EN 61326-1:2013 covers three types of electromagnetic environments:, Equipment dedicated to supplying power to manufacturing or similar factories with one or more of the following conditions: -

Frequent switching of heavy inductance/capacitive loads High current and high magnetic field The presence of ISM devices Controlled electromagnetic environment - The environment is typically characterized by identifying and controlling EMC threats

Emissions must meet the specified requirements:

EN 55011:2016 Industrial, Scientific and medical equipment - Limits and measurement methods for radio frequency interference characteristics

EN 61000-3-2:2014 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 3-2: Limits - Limits for harmonic current emissions (equipment input current ≤ 16 per phase)

EN 61000-3-3:2008 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 3-3: Limits for voltage changes, voltage fluctuations, and flickering in public low-voltage power supply systems - Rated current ≤ 16 per phase for equipment, Unconditional connection (IEC 61000-3-3:2008)
