On March 30, 2009, China issued Notice No. * G/TBT/N/CHN/593 on the "Technical Requirements for Clean Room Luminaires" standard, which regulated the use of tubular fluorescent lamps and LED clean room lamps with a power supply voltage not exceeding 1000 V. The draft standard specifies the marking, structure, creepage distance and electrical clearance, grounding regulations, terminal blocks, internal and external wiring, electric shock protection, durability and thermal testing, dust prevention, solid foreign object prevention and waterproofing, insulation resistance and electrical strength, heat resistance, fire resistance, and resistance to scratches of lighting fixtures used in clean rooms p> On December 8, 2008, the European Ecological Design Regulation * * (EELEP) announced the "Draft Implementation Measures for the Ecological Design Requirements of Non directional Household Lamps" (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft Household Lamps") at the four meetings of the EuP Directive, and notified the content of this draft on December 16, 2008 (G/TBT/N/EEC/237). Please refer to the article "Draft Implementation Measures for Ecological Design Requirements of Non directional Household Lamps" in the EuP column under the Environmental Protection topic for details p>
3. The mandatory regional standards for lighting fixtures GB 7000.1-2007, GB 7000.2-2008, GB 7000.4-2007, GB 7000.6-2008, and GB 7000.9-2008 will be implemented on January 1, 2009. At that time, Class 0 lighting fixtures with lower safety levels will be ordered to gradually withdraw from the market p>
On December 1, 2008, the * Coding System (ILCOS) for GB/T 21656-2008 lamps will be officially implemented. This standard is equivalent to using IEC 61231:1999. The standard provides detailed regulations on the coding principles, coding structures, and specific coding methods for tungsten filament lamps, halogen tungsten lamps, fluorescent lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps, low-pressure sodium lamps, high-pressure mercury lamps, metal halide lamps, and special lamps p>
On September 26, 2008, the Committee on the Ecodesign and Energy Labeling of Energy using Products (EELEP) of the European Union announced at the second meeting of the EuP Directive (2005/32/EC) * the draft implementation measures for the ecological design requirements of non compact rectifier fluorescent lamps, high intensity gas discharge lamps, rectifiers and lamps that enable these lamps to function. One year after the official implementation of this draft implementation measure, Directive 2000/55/EC will be abolished. This implementation measure provides detailed provisions for the ecological design requirements of fluorescent lamps without integrated rectifiers, high intensity discharge lamps, their rectifiers, and lamps. For specific content, please refer to the "Implementation Measures" column of the EuP Directive column under the "Environmental Protection" topic p> On June 5, 2008, the Regional Development and Reform Commission and the Regional General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine jointly issued a notice on the implementation of the relevant requirements for the three batches of energy efficiency labeling products. The "Notice" includes five products, including self ballasted fluorescent lamps and high-pressure sodium lamps, in the three batch product catalog. It requires that starting from June 1, 2008, manufacturers, distributors, and importers shall not produce, sell, or import five products, including self ballasted fluorescent lamps and high-pressure sodium lamps, that do not specify their energy efficiency levels in the product manual. For details, please refer to the "Notice of the Regional Development and Reform Commission and the Regional General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on the Implementation of the Relevant Requirements for the Three Batches of Energy Efficiency Labeled Products" P>
