The opening and closing of high-voltage switches at different stages will cause incomplete phase connection or disconnection of the line or transformer, which may result in overvoltage that endangers insulation. 1. Definition of Time Parameter

1. Opening Time

refers to the time interval from the moment of opening operation of the circuit breaker (receiving the opening command) to the moment of contact separation of all poles.

. The opening time must be within the specified time range. If the opening time is too short, the DC component is too large when the system is short circuited, which may cause difficulty in opening; If the opening time is too long, it will affect the stability of the system

2. Closing time

refers to the time interval between the energization of the closing circuit and the moment when all pole contacts come into contact with the circuit breaker in the open position.

. It should have a very short closing time to reduce the energy of the arc during closing and prevent the arc from causing contact fusion welding

3. Opening closing time

is the time interval between the moment when all pole contacts are separated and the moment when the first pole contacts when the circuit breaker is in automatic reclosing.

4. Closing and Opening Time

is the time interval between the contact moment of the first contact pole and the moment when all the contacts of the pole are separated during the unsuccessful reclosing process or individual closing and opening operation of the circuit breaker.

5. Synchronicity between opening and closing operations

refers to the time difference between three-phase opening and contact of a circuit breaker during opening and closing operations, as well as the time difference between the opening and contact of each arc extinguishing unit contact in the same phase. The former is called inter phase synchronicity, while the latter is called inter phase synchronicity
