The international standard has been partially adopted in terms of its main technical content, and its writing format and rules are based on GB/T1.1-1993 "Guidelines for Standardization Work - Unit 1: Rules for Drafting and Expressing Standards - Part 1: Basic Provisions for Writing Standards". When revising GB 6568.2-1986 using equivalent IEC 60859, the content in GB6568.2-1986 that has been proven to be suitable for China's situation but does not hinder international application has also been retained. According to the provisions of GB/T 1.1-1993, the preface of this international standard has been retained. This standard has added two chapters in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-1993, namely Chapter 1: Scope and Chapter 2: Referenced Standards; Chapter 1 of the original standard: Test Methods for Clothing Materials, which is Chapter 3 of this standard; Chapter 2 of the original standard: Test Methods for Finished Products, is Chapter 4 of this standard. This standard replaces GB6568.2-1986 from the date of implementation. This standard is proposed by the Electric Power Department of the State Economic and Trade Commission. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Live Working. This standard was drafted by Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute and Wuhan Power Supply Bureau. The main drafters of this standard are Zhang Lihua, Zhang Yingping, Yi Hui, Li Hansheng, and Ou Qihe.
