Isolation transformer refers to a transformer with electrical isolation between the input winding and the output winding. The isolation transformer is used to avoid accidental contact with live parts at the same time. The isolation of the transformer is to isolate the current of the primary and secondary winding coils. In the early days, it was used in the power industry in European countries and is widely used as a control power supply for general circuits, safety lighting, and indicator lights in electronic industries or industrial and mining enterprises, machine tools, and mechanical equipment. A specialized transformer with high insulation strength between the primary and secondary windings to isolate different potentials and suppress common mode interference. Although the secondary is not connected to the earth, there is still a potential difference and a phase difference of 180 degrees between any of the secondary wires and the earth, which is dangerous. The power supply for control transformers and electronic tube equipment is also an isolation transformer. Power sources such as electronic tube amplifiers, electronic tube radios and oscilloscopes, and lathe control transformers are all isolation transformers. For safety maintenance of color televisions, a 1:1 isolation transformer is commonly used. It is also used in air conditioning. Firstly, we usually use an AC power supply voltage where one wire is connected to the ground and the other wire has a potential difference of 220V from the ground. Human contact can cause electric shock. The secondary of the isolation transformer is not connected to the earth, and there is no potential difference between any two of its wires and the earth. It is safer for people to come into contact with any wire without causing an electric shock. Secondly, the output end and input end of the isolation transformer are completely "open circuit" isolated, which effectively filters the input end of the transformer (the power supply voltage supplied by the grid) and provides pure power voltage to the electrical equipment. Another purpose is to prevent interference. It can be widely used in places such as subways, high-rise buildings, airports, stations, docks, industrial and mining enterprises, and tunnels for power transmission and distribution.
