Ozone disinfection machines are mainly used for air sterilization and object surface sterilization in processing workshops and similar places in industries such as food, medicine, and cosmetics. Ozone disinfection machines can be divided into mobile, wall mounted, pendant lamp, floor mounted, etc. according to their installation forms. When ozone disinfection machines are used in conjunction with the GMP workshop and HVAC system in pharmaceutical factories, they are usually divided into two types: built-in and external. The machine that uses an ozone generator to produce ozone is called an ozone disinfection machine, where ozone is used as a disinfectant. The high-voltage discharge ozone disinfection machine uses a certain frequency of high-voltage current to create a high-voltage corona electric field, causing electrochemical reactions of oxygen molecules inside or around the electric field, thereby producing ozone. This type of ozone disinfection machine has the advantages of mature technology, stable operation, long service life, and large ozone production (up to 1Kg/h per unit), making it the most widely used ozone disinfection machine in relevant industries both domestically and internationally. High voltage discharge ozone disinfection machines can be divided into the following types: 1) According to the high voltage frequency of the generator, there are three types: power frequency (50-60Hz), medium frequency (400-1000Hz), and high frequency (> 1000Hz). Due to its large size and high power consumption, the power frequency generator has basically withdrawn from the market. Medium and high frequency generators have the advantages of small size, low power consumption, and high ozone production, making them the most commonly used products. 2) According to the gas raw materials used, there are two types: oxygen type and air type. Oxygen type is usually supplied by oxygen cylinders or oxygen generators. Air type usually uses clean and dry compressed air as the raw material. Due to the fact that ozone is generated by oxygen, and the oxygen content in the air is only 21%, the ozone concentration generated by air type generators is relatively low, while the oxygen purity of bottled or oxygen making machines is above 90%, so the ozone concentration of oxygen type generators is relatively high. 3) According to the cooling method, there are water-cooled and air-cooled types. When the ozone disinfection machine is working, it generates a large amount of heat energy and needs to be cooled, otherwise ozone will decompose while generating due to high temperature. The water-cooled generator has good cooling effect, stable operation, no attenuation of ozone, and can work continuously for a long time, but its structure is complex and the cost is slightly higher. The air cooled cooling effect is not ideal enough, and the ozone attenuation is significant. High performance ozone disinfectors with stable overall performance are usually water-cooled. Air cooling is generally only used for mid to low-end ozone disinfection machines with low ozone production. When selecting a generator, it is advisable to choose a water-cooled type as much as possible. 4) According to the classification of dielectric materials, common types include quartz tubes (a type of glass), ceramic plates, ceramic tubes, glass tubes, and enamel tubes. Ozone disinfection machines made of various dielectric materials are sold on the market, with varying performance. Glass dielectric materials have low cost and stable performance, which are one of the earliest materials used in artificial ozone manufacturing, but their mechanical strength is poor. Ceramics are similar to glass, but they are not suitable for processing, and their use in large ozone machines is limited. Enamel is a new type of dielectric material that integrates the dielectric and electrode with high mechanical strength and precision machining accuracy. It is widely used in large and medium-sized ozone disinfection machines, but the manufacturing cost is high. 5) According to the structure of ozone disinfection machines, there are two types: gap discharge (DBD) and open type. The structural feature of gap discharge type is that ozone generates ozone in the gaps between the inner and outer electrodes, and ozone can be collected and output in a concentrated manner with a high concentration, such as for water treatment. The electrodes of an open generator are exposed in the air, and the generated ozone directly diffuses into the air. Due to the low concentration of ozone, it is usually only used for air sterilization in small spaces or surface disinfection of certain small items. The gap discharge generator can replace the open generator. But the cost of gap discharge ozone disinfection machine is much higher than that of open type
